Welcome

Blaenpentre Silver Coin

The Marsh Island Stud was formed in 1996, fittingly named after the Viking named island where the stud originated. Our first foal was born in that year too, Marsh Island Pollyanna, A welsh Section C by our stud stallion Llansantffraed Lord Oliver and out of our foundation show mare Blaenpentre Ballerina.
In 1997 the decision was made to move to South Wales, an area we all loved. Quickly all the animals settled in including our second foal Marsh Island Sir Winston, a full brother to Pollyanna.
Ballerina was kept for ridden classes in the next few years, where she proved to be just as successful. Unfortunatly due to illness she proved she could be just as good as a Grandma to the rest of the stock.
Llansantffraed Lord Olivers performance abilities were discovered in the years to come, what a performance cob he turned out to be.

In Later years Oliver was joined by Blaenpentre Silver Coin (pictured right) a welsh Section B Stallion, and Pentaran Blackadder a welsh section D. All of which have excelled in ridden classes.
